WUB Environmental Education Cell Launches First Green Ambassador Training Programme

The Environmental Education Cell of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) has begun its first Green Ambassador Training Programme, a five-day initiative to build environmental awareness and sustainability leadership among students. The programme started on 7 October 2026, with 45 students from different departments taking part. The first day covers 2 lectures.

The training is led by Dr. Mohammad Tajul Islam, Chairholder of the Chair of Sustainability and Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.

Professor Dr. A.Q.M. Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research; attended the inaugural session as chief guest. Md. Kamrul Hossain, Joint Registrar of WUB, also joined the programme. The session was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design.

The programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to promote environmentally responsible practices. On completion, they will serve as Green Ambassadors, supporting awareness activities and future green initiatives on campus.
