World University of Bangladesh Secures 7th Position at Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026

A research project titled "Natural Fiber Based PCB", developed by the Department of Textile Engineering of World University of Bangladesh (WUB), has secured the 7th position at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, organized under the arrangements of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

A total of 930 projects were submitted during the registration period of the Fair. Following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation, 50 projects were shortlisted for showcasing at the Fair. The WUB project was subsequently placed among the top 10 projects and was finally adjudged 7th, receiving formal recognition from the organising authority.

The project team was led by Md Mostafizur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Textile Engineering, WUB. The team members were Mohammad Bellal Hoque, Assistant Professor, and Rajib Hasan, Student, Department of Mechatronics Engineering.

"Natural Fiber Based PCB" explores the use of natural fibre-based substrates as a sustainable alternative in printed circuit board fabrication, contributing to environmentally responsible electronics and value addition in the natural fibre sector.

The Fair was held at Nobotheatre, Dhaka on 12-14 September, 2026, and the recognition was handed over by the Prof. Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Finance & Planning Adviser of Prime Minister and Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
