Two faculty members from the World University of Bangladesh
(WUB)—Mr. Abdullah Mohammad Sharif, Assistant Professor, Department of Business
Administration, and Mr. Ahsan Ullah, Assistant Professor, Department of
Computer Science and Engineering—participated in the Global Academic Leadership
Excellence Program (GALEP) 2.0, held from 9–12 November in Malaysia.
The program was jointly organized by the Higher Education
Leadership Academy (AKEPT), Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and the
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Sessions took place at both
AKEPT and IIUM, offering diverse learning experiences and opportunities for
academic collaboration.
GALEP 2.0 served as a high-impact platform designed to strengthen
leadership competencies among emerging academic leaders. Over four days,
participants engaged in interactive sessions, talks, and workshops focused on
strategic thinking, innovation, sustainability, and effective leadership in
higher education. Key activities included mind-mapping exercises, sessions on
academic professionalism, global education challenges, and workshops on
strategic planning and institutional innovation.
Participation in this prestigious program reflects WUB’s
commitment to professional development and preparing globally competent
academic leaders. WUB extends heartfelt appreciation to AKEPT and IIUM for
organizing this impactful initiative that contributes to advancing leadership
excellence in global higher education.
